The mugginess returns Monday.

A few showers and thunderstorms pop up late in the day on Monday ahead of a cold front.

Overall, Monday is good pool weather. Be wary of late afternoon and early evening thunderstorms.

WARM START TO WEEK: The heat briefly returns as we begin the new work week. Tonight is a little milder, and the humidity rises a bit as well. Skies are mostly clear, with overnight low temperatures in the middle to upper 60s. A muggy feel is back for Monday, severealong with the heat. Highs are near 90 degrees. A cold front brings the chance for a couple late day and early evening thunderstorms Monday. A few storms could turn on the strong to severe side, with damaging winds the main threat.

DRY MIDWEEK: Tuesday skies clear, but it’s still very warm. Humidity levels come down a bit. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s. The middle of the week looks fairly seasonable, with temperatures hovering near the middle 80s on Wednesday. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds.

WEEK ENDS UNSETTLED: Although there is great model disagreement on rain chances, at the moment Thursday and Friday look like the days for showers. Computer models are having some difficultly with the timing and development of the system, so we’ll be watching for it. Temperatures should run a bit below average too, depending on rain chances. We should dry out in time for the weekend, and temperatures still hover a bit below seasonable averages.

Have a great week!
