People gathered in the city of York on Sunday, for Equality Fest 2015.

The event is aimed at celebrating the passage of marriage equality, not just within in the LGBT community, but for everyone.

Those involved say the festival is a great way to bring people together, regardless of their race, age, and gender.

President of Equality Fest, Carla Christopher says, "We have so many people coming out, we have twice the vendors, we have more performers on the waiting list that want to perform.  The community is loving this, there's people coming from all walks of life, having a great time, and just enjoy being in the city."

Today's event also featured crafts, live music, poetry readings, and a group marriage service.
