CENTRE TOWNSHIP, BERKS COUNTY–Engine trouble forced a small plane with two people aboard to make an emergency landing Saturday afternoon in a Berks County field, according to Pennsylvania State Police reports. No one was injured.
Authorities said the single-engine aircraft came down shortly before 1:20 p.m. along Ernst Road in Centre Township.
A 47-year-old man and a 55-year-old women were the only people aboard.
The pilot experienced unknown engine problems after taking off out of Reading and had to make an emergency landing in a field, state police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
