YORK TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police are investigating after someone discovered a body in a creek near Camp Betty Washington Road in York Township.

The coroner pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

An autopsy is currently being scheduled at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

Officials are not releasing the victim’s identity at this time.

UPDATE:  The body was identified by the York County Coroner Jeannie Stokes, 60, of the 1900 block of Camp Betty Washington Road. Her body was discovered at about 8 pm in Mill Creek, near the intersection of Camp Betty Washington and Belle roads, less than a quarter mile from her home. An autopsy is scheduled at Lehigh Valley Hospital.

York Area Regional Police are investigating.
