Fire damages Dauphin County home

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – A Dauphin County home is heavily damaged in a mid afternoon fire. The fire broke out at about 3:19 pm along the 1100 block of Highland Street at the corner of Monroe Street, Swatara Township.

The first firefighters on the scene reported smoke and flames from the second floor of the home. The residents were not at home when the fire began. The fire was under control in less than half an hour, but firefighters had to deal with hot spots.

A State Police Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
