York City child rape suspect arrested

YORK COUNTY, Pa.  A York City man wanted on charges of rape of a child and other related offenses was taken into custody today by members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

York City Police obtained an arrest warrant on Tuesday, August 4, charging Eddie  Poteet, 36, with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse with Child, Rape of Child, Indecent Assault-Person less than 13 years of age, and Corruption of Minors.

Members of the USMS Fugitive Task Force arrested Poteet without incident at a trailer park in York County. Poteet was turned over to local authorities pending judicial proceedings in the case.

The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel from the York City Police Department, York County District Attorney’s Office, York County Sheriff’s Office and the Latimore Township Police Department.
