HARRISBURG, Pa. — The ramp on the George N. Wade Memorial Bridge over the Susquehanna River from northbound Interstate 81 to southbound Front Street toward the City of Harrisburg on the East Shore will be closed during the daytime on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 9 AM to 3 PM and possibly during the same timeframe on Friday, Aug. 14. The ramp to northbound Front Street will remain open and will be available. The closure is necessary so that the contractor for PennDOT can remove debris from the water that has collected along the bridge. Removing the debris will allow future underwater inspections of the bridge. Motorists are advised to be alert to this operation during the day on Thursday.

If there is still debris remaining in the water at the end of the day on Thursday, it may be necessary for the contractor to continue the operation on Friday to finish removing it.
