ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa – A 53 year old Elizabethtown man missing since Monday morning has been found dead.  Borough police say Charles Harzer’s unoccupied red 1996 Ford F-150 pickup was located in the 900 block of Hampden Road Extended at about 8:30 am this morning.  A tracking dog was called in to assist with the search for Harzer, but was unsuccessful.

Police continued a foot search of the area and found Harzer’s body in a nearby wooded area at about 11:50 pm, approximately 150 yards from his truck.

The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office was alerted. A deputy coroner determined that the victim died of a self inflicted gunshot wound.
