Driver dies in crash at Williams Grove Speedway

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. - Friday and Saturday races at Williams Grove Speedway have been cancelled following a fatal  crash that claimed the life of a driver.  It happened at about 7:30 p.m. during Hot Laps of a United Racing Club sanctioned race.  According to the schedule Friday night was Kids Night at the track.

According to the track's Facebook page, the name of the driver killed was 45-year-old James "Jim" Campbell Jr. of Bucks County. He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Campbell collided with a guardrail on the third corner of the speedway during warm ups . His car flipped and then caught fire.

Williams Grove officials cancelled the remaining race program for the night.  Rain-checks can be used or sent in by 30 days.
