Police are asking the public’s help trying  to identify a man who robbed a Wells Fargo Bank just before 11:00 a.m.  in Stewartstown on August 20th.

The robber is being described as a black male, about 5’7″-5’9″ around 170 lbs, he was wearing a heavy skin tone nylon sock over his head and a ball cap that appeared to be black with a blue or green (teal) color bill with  an unknown insignia, dark blue jeans and a white long sleeve shirt.

At the time of the robbery he was carrying a black semi automatic handgun police said.

Police believe prior to this bank robbery, the suspect cased out Peoples Bank also in Stewartstown.

The vehicle the suspect was in is being described as a silver, 2006-2012 4-door Chevrolet Impala.

Police say the vehicle has several unique identifiers, a Maryland War of 1812 “Flag tag, a large dent to the driver’s side rear fender and a sticker or dealership decal to the left trunk area.

Anyone that can help identify the man is urged to call York County Crime Stoppers at 755-TIPS.
