UNION TWP., Lebanon County, Pa — An overnight standoff in Leabnon county ends without incident an a man in custody. Police were called to the 300 block of Shepard Street around 9pm for a report of domestic violence. Police say Matthew Sutton, 35, and his wife got into a verbal altercation that escalated. Sutton allegedly grabbed his wife and choked her. The victim says Sutton pushed her into a wall and threatened to kill her and then himself. She was able to escape the house and run to a neighbor’s house.

Troopers from PSP Jonestown called the house around 9:20pm and spoke to Sutton to get him to surrender. Sutton told the trooper he would not come out without a fight. He also told troopers that he had several weapons and that they should come inside and “see what happens.” Based on that information the PSP SERT team was activated. Sutton was taken into custody by the SERT team at 6:30 this morning without incident.

Sutton is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and harassment.
