YORK TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- Handel's Ice Cream in York County is showing some sweet support for the Red Land Little League team. Workers at the shop are scooping up "Red Land Velvet" ice cream for customers, in honor of the players.
The team is representing Pennsylvania at the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
Handel's owner says it's just a small way to honor the team's success. They won the U.S. Championship against Texas on Saturday.
"Since Red Land has done as well as they have in the tournament, we decided we would rename it to "Red Land Velvet" and we called corporate and told them to get us some fliers made up and thought this would be the name for Red Land, the "Velvet Team" as they are going through the championship here," says Vicke Allison.
Everyone at Handel's is wishing the boys the best as they go for the World title versus Japan on Sunday.
