YORK, Pa. – A fatal shooting in York, the city’s second homicide shooting in four days. Police responded at about 7:55 pm to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of East Cottage Place. Upon arrival they found 23-year-old Andrew Jackson with a bullet wound in the hallway of 342 East Cottage Place. Jackson died at the scene. Hannah Penn K-8 and York Catholic High School are nearby.
City police have released few details. Detectives gathered evidence from a home. Several people were also being interviewed.
Four days ago, Saturday, August 29, at 3 am, Ruby Mercado, 27, was found shot to death in a van along the 200 block of North Hartley Street. Police are seeking Kameron Edward Linwood Orr, for questioning in connection with Mercado’s homicide.
