EAST DONEGAL TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Susquehanna Regional Police charge a 9th grade Donegal High School student with posting a threatening message to an app called After School.  The message, posted Tuesday at about 5:19 pm by a 15 year old male. referenced that he would be shooting up the school during a lunch period. Another student then referenced the posting in Twitter. School officials were then notified. An investigation was then initiated in conjunction with police.

The high school was placed on lock down Wednesday, and each student searched before they entered the building. Police and school administrators working with the CEO of After School were eventually able to tentatively identify the student who posted the message. During an interview with investigators the teen explained that he was curious as to what type of response his post would get among his peers and that he had no intention of carrying out the threat.

The student will be charged with Terroristic Threats and referred to juvenile authorities. He was released to the custody of his mother. The school district is also expected to take disciplinary action.
