HANOVER, Pa. --  The body of a man found in a Hanover motel room Thursday morning has been identified as 41 year old Walter Seanor.  The York County Coroner says Seanor lived at the motel. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities are investigating after a man's body was found inside of a York County hotel room following a fire.

First responders got the call around 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning for a fire at the Hanover Hotel and Banquet Center (formerly the Red Carpet Inn) located along the 1000 block of Carlisle Street in Hanover.

The unidentified man's body was found on the floor inside of a burned out room, investigators said. It remains unclear how the man died. Police said they do not believe it is a criminal matter.

"At this point, we are confident we do not have a homicide," said Chief Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley. "But we've got to continue the investigation and carry it through."

The York County coroner's office and the York County Forensic unit was on the scene for much of the day.

Investigators said the cement walls of the hotel kept the fire from spreading to neighboring rooms.

A State Police Fire Marshal is still looking into the cause of the fire.  An autopsy is being scheduled as part of the death investigation.
