WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A rich part of the York Fair's history is now carved out in hundreds of pounds of butter.  The fair unveiled a butter sculpture which depicts the transfer of the charter to hold the fair back in 1765.

The Buttery creation was made by a local couple, and it's already putting smiles on the faces of visitors. The Fair's general manager Michael Froehlich says that's important as they celebrate 250 years.

"The vendors that come from other states say there's something about the 250th that makes you smile," Froehlich said. "So, I think that's a good omen, that the way that I count the success of the fair is basically going around and  seeing people smile. If you've got a smile on your face, you're having a good time. "

The York Fair open tomorrow and runs through September 20th.
