LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster City Police have an arrest warrant for a suspect in the September 5th fatal shooting, of 26 year old Luis Santiago.  Jaime Alberto Santiago-Leon, 30, has been charged with Criminal Homicide in connection with the shooting of Santiago at a house party at 812 E. Chestnut Street.  He is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators determined that during an argument between Santiago-Leon and the victim, Santiago-Leon pulled out a  handgun and shot the Santiago once in the face in front of several witnesses. Santiago-Leon then ran out the front door. Numerous witnesses at the party were interviewed.

One witness heard an argument in the first floor living room of the house. This witness went into the living room and saw Luis Santiago arguing with a hispanic male. During the argument the witness saw the hispanic male raise his hand with a gun and shoot Luis Santiago. The hispanic male then fled out the front door of the residence.

A photographic array that contained Jamie Alberto Santiago-Leon’s photograph was shown to this witness, who positively identified Jamie Alberto Santiago-Leon as the person who shot Luis Santiago.

Another witness at the party also said that an argument broke out between Luis Santiago and a hispanic male. The second witness also claims to have seen the hispanic male pull a handgun and fire one shot at Santiago. This witness also was shown a photographic array and positively identified Jamie Alberto Santiago-Leon as the person who fired the shot at Luis Santiago.

Santiago-Leon is described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 lbs, with hazel/green color eyes.
