LANCASTER, Pa. - Rain didn't keep people from celebrating culture in Lancaster on Saturday. The 3rd Annual Latin American Festival kicked off in Binns Park.

The event recognized 20 different cultures including Puerto Rican, Dominican and Caribbean through food, music, games, and dancing. Organizers with the Latin American Culture Center of Lancaster say it's all about showing pride in your heritage.

"It's nice to celebrate every day where you come from," Cultural Center Treasurer Annie Diaz said, "it's nice to pick a day of the year where we actually celebrate the Hispanic Heritage Month from September to October. It is important to them that we don't forget where we come from."

The center started this tradition after running into financial issues that forced them to end the area's Puerto Rican parade.
