WEST MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The 250th York Fair is in full swing in York County. Thousands of people are making their way to the York Fairgrounds to celebrate the oldest running fair in America. Starting in 1765, the annual fair always begins the Friday after Labor Day and runs for 10 days. The fair has only been canceled a hand-full of times. This year, fair organizers expect over 500,000 people to attend.

For those visiting the York Fair, food and concerts aren't the only big attraction. The animals are a big part of the annual event. Each day, pig and Dachshund races are held multiple times throughout the afternoon and evening. Visitors young and old turned out today to see the entertaining races. The good weather also helped draw big crowds to today's races. Andrew Spangenberger of York took his family to see the races today. "We walked past and saw that they were getting ready to start so I figured the kids would get a kick out of it so, it's great, it's great to come out especially on this nice beautiful day today," said Spangenberger.

The fair runs through September 20. For more on the fair click here.
