Crews battle house fire in Red Lion, York County

RED LION, Pa- Fire crews battled an early morning house fire in York County. Flames broke out around 1:00 a.m. at a home located in the 100 block of South Charles Street in Red Lion.

Authorities say one family had to  jump  out of the  2nd floor widow of the home to escape the flames.  Crews were able to knock the flames out pretty quickly, Red Lion Fire Chief Young said there was a Mayday situation when a firefighter fell through the floor of the home while he was putting out flames.

He suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A total 9 people have been displaced and authorities say some people have gone to the hospital due to smoke inhalation.

No word yet on the cause of the fire, officials are still investigating
