Escaped York County inmate captured in Conewago Township

CONEWAGO TOWNSHIP, Pa.–An inmate who escaped from York County Prison’s work release facility on Friday night is now back in police custody.

The suspect, Jessie A. Spangler, 22, was found Sunday night hiding underneath a mobile home along the 300 block of Westwood Drive in Conewago Township. He was arrested without incident.

Investigators believe Spangler escaped the facility around 11:30 p.m. Friday by climbing a chain-link fence . He was being housed in the prison’s work-release facility, a building that is located across Concord Road from the main prison.
