PENNSYLVANIA — With the possibility of rain for the weekend in Central Pennsylvania after an already wet week, Officials with the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) are urging people to be prepared for flooding.

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain over the next several days that could cause flooding.

Here are some steps to prepare:

  • Clean out gutters and storm drains near your home or business.
  • If your basement is prone to flooding elevate items or move them to higher parts of your home.
  • Develop an emergency plan and build an emergency kit for your home and car.
  • Make sure you have enough batteries, food, water, prescriptions and other supplies for at least three days.
  • Do not camp or park your vehicle along streams and washes, particularly during threatening conditions.
