Manheim Township Police arrest suspect in shooting death of Lancaster man

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – Manheim Township make an arrest in a early morning homicide.  It happen at around 1:47 am Monday in the 600 block of Martha Avenue, in the vicinity of Francis Avenue.

ManheimTwpShootingOfficers responding to a report of gunshots found the Nicholas R. Vassallo, 21, of Lancaster. Vassallo had been shot multiple times. He was taken to Lancaster General Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

Investigators worked throughout the day and developed information which identified Robert A. Peters IV, 18, of John Drive, Kirkwood, as a suspect. Peters was arrested and charged with Criminal Homicide. He was denied bail at his arraignment, and committed to Lancaster County Prison.

Police say the shooting of Vassallo was not random and appears to be drug related.
