DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. – Lower Paxton Township will have a heavy presence at the school bus stops of a Linglestown neighborhood on Tuesday.  The stepped up police patrols are in response to an incident Monday morning involving a Linglestown Middle School student.  The student was chased by a man while she was walking to her bus stop at Ryan Drive and Lancaster Avenue in the Clermont subdivision.

The man is described as being about 40 years of age, tall, thin build with a goatee. The suspect was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, dark jean shorts, and white shoes with black socks that had a polka dot pattern.

The girl safely ran to a neighbor’s house but no one was home. The man stopped on the sidewalk. She then ran to the bus stop and the man again chased her. It appears, though, that the presence of other children at the stop scared him away. The man did not speak during the incident.

Police have identified the man, who is homeless, but he is not in custody. Police will have a heavy presence in the neighborhood until the man is apprehended.
