SUV crashes into utility pole, sparks fire in Manheim Township

MANHEIM TOWNSHIP, Pa.– Police are investigating after an SUV crashed into a utility pole and then burst into flames next to a house, sparking a fire in Lancaster County on Monday morning.

It happened along the 200 block of Meadow Lane in Manheim Township shortly after 8 a.m. The vehicle swerved off the road and crashed into a utility pole, splitting it in two and bringing down wires. The SUV overturned and came to a rest near a home, causing it to catch fire.

SUVFIreNo word on the condition of the driver of the SUV.

Authorities shut down a portion of Meadow Lane as crews work to fix the utility pole and downed wires.
