LANCASTER, Pa.–A college in Pennsylvania is the latest institution to revoke an honorary degree from embattled comedian Bill Cosby.
Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster announced the school’s Board of Trustees voted last week to rescind Cosby’s honorary doctorate degree in humane letters, which was given in May 2000.
More than 40 women have publicly accused Cosby of sexual assault. He has never admitted to sexual assault or been charged criminally.
Several other colleges and universities, including Fordham, Marquette, Baylor and Tufts University, previously pulled their Cosby degrees. In December 2014, amid widening allegations, Cosby resigned from the board of trustees of Temple University in Philadelphia.
