Woman accused of pulling ‘quick change scam’ at Ephrata Walmart

EPHRATA, Pa. — Police want your help identifying a woman they say committed a “quick change scam” on Monday at a Walmart in Lancaster County.

It happened at the Walmart located along the 800 block of East Main Street in Ephrata Township.

A woman, who acted as if she could not speak English, tried to trick the cashier into giving back change that was worth more than the items she purchased, according to police reports.

While the clerk was distracted, the woman reached into the cash drawer and took money. She was last seen driving out of the store parking lot in an SUV.

The suspect is described as a white female, in her 40’s, medium build, blonde hair with a French accent.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 717-733-8611.
