Student attacked fellow classmate with knife at James Buchanan High School in Franklin County

MERCERSBURG, Pa.–Police are investigating after a student attacked another student with a knife during homeroom at James Buchanan High School in Franklin County on Monday morning.

A teacher quickly intervened and was able to subdue the attacking student, according to a statement posted on the Tuscarora School District Facebook page.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to the emergency room by his mother, school administrators said.

The suspect was taken into custody by the Mercersburg Police Department.

The high school is operating as normal and counseling services are available, according to the Facebook post.
