LEBANON, Pa –A Lebanon man is charged with arson after police say he intentionally set a mattress on fire in an apartment. It happened Monday afternoon at 368 N. 8th Street . Police say Marcos Renta-Camacho, 33, got into an argument with his paramour and made aggressive movements towards her and her child with a knife. Renta-Camacho ended up getting a cut on his hand. Then he allegedly lit a mattress on fire inside his apartment. He fled the apartment, as did his girlfriend and her child. The apartment building was occupied by other residents at the time of the fire. Renta-Camacho was found and arrested. He was transported to LCCB and arraigned before MDJ Thomas Capello on charges of Arson, Recklessly Endangering Another Person (5 counts), Simple Assault, Possession of a Designer Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was subsequently incarcerated at LCCF in lieu of $25,000 bail. His paramour and her child were not injured during this incident. The fire was contained within the bedroom of Renta-Camacho’s apartment. No one was displaced after the fire was extinguished. When police went to the room with fire personnel suspected synthetic drugs and drug paraphernalia were found in Renta-Camacho’s apartment.
