SPRING GARDEN TOWNSHIP, Pa. – About 20 men went “under the blade” for a clean shave on Sunday to kick-off “Movember” at The Cove┬áRestaurant in Spring Garden Township, York County.

“They have the whole month of November to essentially grow a mustache and then, at the end of the month we are going to have another promotion when we come out and sort of judge the best bartender, or the best staff member, or the best patron with the best beard,” said Ian Kobos, representing Kettle One Vodka.

The shaving event served as the beginning of a month of fundraising at The Cove. Ketel One Vodka will donate one-dollar from each Dutch Mule drink sold, to the Movember Foundation. Patrons can also give donations at the bar and have their name and a mustache put on the wall. The Movember Foundation sponsors programs related to men’s health, including testicular and prostate cancer, mental health and inactivity.

Men grow mustaches throughout the month to draw attention to men’s health issues.
