One dead, one wounded in Harrisburg shooting

HARRISBURG, Pa. – One man is dead and another wounded in a shooting in Harrisburg. At about 6:52 pm, Monday evening, City Police received multiple calls for shots fired in the 1200 block of Rolleston Street near.  Witnesses in the neighborhood reported hearing multiple gunshots.  When officers arrived on the scene they found multiple shell casings scattered about. It appears that there was some type of fight that may have happen at a nearby park and gunfire was exchanged between both sides.

One man was pronounced dead at Harrisburg Hospital. The other victim suffered a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Police say more people may have been shot.  Police also received information that suspects may have entered a residence on the street.  Heavily armed police forced their way in and determined that no one was inside.

At least one person was taken into custody. Police are withholding the name of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.  There was heavy police presence for hours while the investigation in the shooting continued.
