Crews put fire out quickly in Hellam township

HELLAM TWP, PA- Crews responded to a chimney fire on Thursday morning in York County.

The fire broke out inside a chimney at the home around 7:30 a.m.

No one was home at the time. Responding crews were able to put the fire out quickly.

The fire did spread to the attic of the home. Estimated damage is about $40,000 authorities said.

No one was reported injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
