HARRISBURG, Pa. - In the wake of recent world events, Harrisburg City Police made the decision to increase security at the annual Holiday Parade. Police called in extra local and state resources. Throughout the week, they met with officers to come up with a strategy. Part of the decision was made due to there being a special celebrity appearance by the Red Land Little League US Championship Team. The department does not have a homeland security team. It works closely with state and federal agencies to identify and investigate threats. No incidents occurred at the parade, but viewers were happy to see increased security.

"That's always a plus, but you also have to not live in fear and you know, you can't let the fear of not being safe keep you from enjoying the holiday parade," said Sarah Krevsky.

Thousands of people attended the parade and hundreds participated in it.
