HARRISBURG, Pa. - Over 100 men are staying at the Bethesda Mission. For Thanksgiving, everyone there was able to enjoy a hot meal. To make the meal possible members of the Navy cooked in the morning and over 45 volunteers stepped in to serve.

"It’s just a great thing that people want to give up part of their holiday for this. This is a little sacrifice for some of them and it’s great that they want to come and do that," said Bethesda Mission's volunteer coordinator, Deb King.

Other volunteers just spent time talking to the men staying at the mission.

"We’re no different than they are and it’s nice to fellowship with them because they don’t have a lot of fellowship," said
Del Benner.

The men were thankful for the turkey dinner and all the Bethesda Mission has done for them.

All missions, in the area, are holding a canned food drive through December 20.
