LANCASTER, Pa.– A Lancaster man will spend at least three years in state prison after pleading guilty to armed robbery.

Zachary T. Frey, 24, plead guilty last month to robbery, attempted robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit robbery in exchange for a 3 ½-to-8-year prison term.

Prosecutors said Frey targeted three convenience stores within 90 minutes of each other on July 3.

Frey entered the Turkey Hill on Centerville Road in East Hempfield Township around 1 a.m. with the intention of robbing the clerk. Frey told a man who drove him to the store, “the cops are in there,” and didn’t go through with the robbery, prosecutors said.

Around 2 a.m., Frey robbed a Turkey Hill in Mountville at gunpoint. He fled the store with $19 worth of items, according to investigators.

His next stop was at a Getty in Millersville. Frey entered the store with a pellet gun–but ditched it and fled the store. Police were outside and arrested him.

Kyle Gerlitski, the driver of the vehicle, also was charged. He has a guilty plea hearing scheduled for January 7.
