One man dead after crash in Perry County

TUSCARORA, TWP- One man is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday night in Perry County.

According to state police, the crash occurred around  8:00 p.m. along the 6900 block of Raccoon Valley Road.

The victim has been identified as Elam Lapp, 40, of Ickesburg, police said.

Police say Kathy Peachy, 39, no address given, was driving east along the roadway when she struck the back of a vehicle being driven by Melvin Lee Glick, 19, of Millerstown. Lapp was a passenger in Peachy’s vehicle.

After the collision, Peachy’s vehicle spun out, struck a telephone pole and caught fire, with Lapp still trapped in the vehicle, police said.

Lapp was pronounced dead at the scene by the coroner’s office, police said.

Glick and Peachy were treated for minor injuries.

The crash is still being investigated by state police.
