LEBANON, Pa. – Two pedestrians, one a Lebanon City employee, were hospitalized after they were struck about a minute apart at the same intersection. City police responded to the first incident at about 5:27 am at the intersection of 9th & Chestnut Streets.  While police were still en-route to the scene they were informed that a second pedestrian had been struck.

In the first incident, Thomas Berkley, of Lebanon, was crossing 9th Street at Chestnut Street when he was hit by a northbound vehicle driven by 42 year old Brian Saylor, also of Lebanon. Berkley was thrown into the middle of the intersection by the force of the impact. Saylor immediately pulled over, called 911 and rendered aid to Berkley.

Lebanon City street sweeper operator Ed Mccann, a witness to what just happen, also stopped and he too went to help Berkley.  Within a minute, while all three men were in the middle of the intersection, Sandra Livering, 59, traveling west on Chestnut Street struck Berkley and Mccann injuring both men.

The two victims were transported to the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.  So far no charges have been filed, police say their investigation continues.
