Franklin County man killed in crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. – A two vehicle crash claims the life of a Franklin County man. It happen at about 2:46 pm Monday along the 14000 block of Route 30, Lincoln Way West in Peters Township.

Pennsylvania State Police say Neil M. Strausbaugh, 44, of Saint Thomas, in a 1997 Prism, was traveling east and was attempting to  pass several vehicles when he hit a westbound 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup driven by Jason L. Fox, 37, of Fort Loudon. Fox tried to avoid the collision but was unable and two vehicles crashed nearly head-on.

Strausbaugh had to be extricated from his car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Fox was also extricated from his Dodge Ram. He was taken to Chambersburg Hospital. His injuries are considered major.

State Police say their investigation into the crash continues.
