HARRISBURG, Pa. — Police were called to the 2300 block of Derry Street, near Bill’s Café around 2am Sunday after someone reported a car had struck a pedestrian. The victim wasn’t in the area but police did find the Nissan Altima allegedly involved. When the officers tried to pull the car over, the driver took off, striking another pedestrian in the process. After a short pursuit, the Nissan struck a sign and the car was disabled at South 13th and Sycamore Streets. Police took the driver, Jarae Lee, 21 into custody. Police say Lee was visibly intoxicated. She was transported to Harrisburg Hospital Emergency Room, where she was checked for injuries. While at Harrisburg ER, Lee is accused of kicking one officer in the chest and spitting on another officer. Lee was arraigned on charges of DUI, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, – resulting in the additional charges of Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Harassment by a Prisoner.
The victim that Lee struck with her vehicle refused medical attention.
