YORK, Pa. – York City  police are investigating a double shooting that led to one man’s death.

Officers were called to 725 Pennsylvania Ave. for reports of shots fired around 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Officials say they found  two victims,  DaKeem Dennison and Damon Banks Jr.  who were taken to York Hospital.

Dennison, 19, died  a short time later at the hospital, while Banks is still listed in stable condition with a gun shot wound to the buttocks police said.

Police believe that the shooting was an attempted  home invasion, and that the victims and the location were targeted.

Double Shooting

While an act of violence is unnerving to the neighborhood in which it occurs, police want to assure the public this was not a random act.

An autopsy is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday, according to the coroner’s office.

Anyone with information is asked to call the York City Police Department at 717-846-1234 or 755-TIPS.
