LANCASTER, Pa. -- Christmas Eve is one of the busiest shopping days of the year. Many came out to purchase gifts at Park City Center.
And some came for moral support.
Janine Finefrock, a Leola Township resident, said, "My husband is doing his last-minute shopping and I'm patiently waiting."
The shoppers said the thrill is in the crowd.
"I love the hustle and bustle of the people, so I like the last minute shopping," she said.
And for a lot of people, it has become an annual habit.
David Tirado, an East Petersburg resident, said, "This is our 21st year coming to Park City. We meet in the morning, we have some refreshments and we do some last-minute shopping."
The only thing they said isn't exciting about shopping on Christmas Eve is the weather.
"It doesn't get you in the mood. We need some cold weather and snow to get in the mood for Christmas," Finefrock said.
People said they are able to buy what they need and don't have to prolong the store experience. But there is one problem with last-minute shopping.
"You gotta make sure that you stick with your budget. Because you can get really, you can go off and buy something that...impulsive. Impulsiveness will do it," Tirado said.
Many of the people at the mall said they have been doing last-minute shopping for years and don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
