CARLISLE, Pa. – Police arrest a suspect in a series of burglaries in Carlisle. Terrence Dwight Jones, 42, is accused of the burglaries of several retail establishments between April and December. Over that 9 month period 6 burglaries were reported and an attempted 7th burglary.

Over the course of the investigation Jones was identified as a suspect.

Investigators say during the burglaries Jones broke out glass windows and doors to gain entry to convenience stores and cigarette outlets. Once inside, Jones would steal numerous cartons and loose packs of cigarettes.

After the latest burglary on Monday, December 28, at Smoker’s Express, 200 S. Spring Garden Street a warrant was obtained to search Jones’ house. During the search, police found cigarettes stolen from Smoker’s Express as well as SKS rifle.  Jones was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Charges include Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Theft, Criminal Mischief and former Felons Not to Possess Firearms.
