YORK CITY, Pa.–Police  responded to the Davis School located along the 300 block of South Ogontz Street in York City on Friday afternoon. The school was reportedly placed on lock down, but it has since been lifted.

It is unclear what prompted the police response shortly after 1 p.m.

A spokesperson for the York City School District said the following robo call went out parents to inform them of the situation at the Davis School :

“We are calling to inform you of an incident today at Davis. At about 12:45 p.m. school administrators decided to place the school in a shelter-in-place status while school police investigated a report of a possible safety issue. Nothing was found, and we have concluded that no threat or safety hazard existed. We lifted the shelter-in-place status, and school resumed as normal. The health and safety of our students and staff is our top priority, so we take all reports seriously. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
