CARLISLE, Pa. – A Carlisle man is behind bars accused in a weekend strong armed robbery that netted him $1.35 in change. It happened at about 7:53 pm on Saturday, January 16 in the area of the 100 block of N. Hanover Street.

Upon arrival on the scene, borough police located a man who matched the description of the suspect in the robbery.  He was taken into custody and positively identified by the victim.

The victim told police that the suspect, identified as 34 year old Isaiah Smith Washington approached him and his friend in an alley way. Washington allegedly asked the victim for a quarter and after he was handed the quarter, Washington grabbed the victim and demanded more money.  The victim said he handed over $1.35 in pocket change. Afterwards he called police.

During a search, police found a large baggie of marijuana on Washington.

Charges against include Robbery, Possession with Intent to Deliver, Harassment and Disorderly Conduct. Following arraignment Washington was sent to Cumberland County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.
