MANHEIM, Pa. -- Norma Knepp's Tuesdays just got a whole lot busier.
Knepp, who owns Norma's Pizza at Root's Farmer's Market and Auction in Manheim, Lancaster County, recently had her New York-style pizza named the best in the United States. Knepp took part in the Caputo Cup USA pizza-making competition.
"Pizza makers, chefs came from all over Italy and all kinds of places," Knepp explains. "You could compete in New York-style or you could compete in wood-fired oven Neapolitan style."
The judges based their award on taste, presentation, and originality.
"I never felt that way before. It was like I was crying, but I was on cloud 9," Knepp says.
Knew says the secrets to her pizzas are having passion and respect.
