NEWBERRY TWP., York County Pa. — The Newberry Township Board of Supervisors declared a State of Disaster Emergency for Newberry Township yesterday.

In addition, a travel ban is now in effect starting at 11 AM, Saturday, January 23rd.

Until further notice, nonessential vehicle travel is banned on all township roadways. Nonessential vehicles are defined as vehicles other than the following – emergency service vehicles, police and fire, public works, public utilities vehicles, bonified snow removal contractors and health care workers. Penalties will be imposed in accordance with state law.

Vehicles abandoned on township roadways will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The disaster declaration will remain in effect until further notice. Additional restrictions may be announced at a later time.
