There’s no mistaking the rivalry on the court.   When it comes to girls basketball in Pennsylvania, it doesn’t get much better than Delone Catholic vs. York Catholic.  The two programs and their fans are taking the competition to a new level.   Both communities have embraced the FOX43 PLEDGE IT For the Kids Points Challenge and are raising thousands of dollars for The Four Diamonds at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

“It’s awesome.  I sent out one email to our faculty and staff and it took off,” said Delone Catholic Director of Enrollment and Marketing Katie Mahoney.  “They were all over it.  The kids are excited about it.  I have no doubt it’s going to be very competitive, very exciting.  Probably just like the game will be, down to the final wire.”

The For the Kids Points Challenge is a performance based fundraiser with per point donations pledged for either Delone Catholic or York Catholic.  As of Thursday morning, January 28th, Delone Catholic's supporters have pledged $51.13 per point.  York Catholic's total is already at $80.25 per point.  Donations can be made all the way up until the final buzzer sounds in Friday Night's game between the Irish and Squirettes at Delone.

All of the details about the challenge and instructions on how to donate can be found at http://www.pledgeit.org/fox43
