LEBANON, Pa- A Lebanon woman had to be amputated after being shot by her boyfriend.

Lebanon City Police arrested 22-year-old Eric Joppy on charges of Aggravated Assault, False Reports to the Police, and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

According to police they were called to  the 300 block of North 12th Street Saturday for a disturbance with possible shots fired.

Upon arrival police found the woman with a gunshot wound on her arm.

The couple first told police that two unknown males entered their apartment with a gun, shot the female, then fled the house. Upon investigation police found their statements to be false.

Police say Joppy shot his girlfriend, then hid the gun before police arrived.

A warrant was obtained for Joppy’s arrest, who later turned himself him.

The female victim received emergency care, where her right hand and part of her right arm were amputated.

Joppy was arraigned and placed on $500,000 bail.
