YORK, PA – After over a decade of anchoring FOX43 NEWS AT 10, FOX43 MORNING NEWS and FOX43 NEWS FIRST AT 4, Heather Warner is leaving WPMT FOX43 this March.

Warner is exiting FOX43 to take a position at GRIT Marketing Group, an advertising and communications agency with offices in York and Lancaster. As a Senior Account Executive, Warner will work with local businesses to develop and implement strategic marketing plans.

“I have greatly enjoyed my years with FOX43, and my co-workers are like family to me,” Warner says. “While I will miss everyone here, and I will miss the excitement of covering local news and sharing the stories of Central Pennsylvanians, I am ready to contribute in a different way. I’m thrilled to start this new role.”

Chris Topf, FOX43 Vice President and General Manager, says Warner will be missed by the entire FOX43 staff. “Heather has become an icon in our market. On air, she has established herself as a top anchor and journalist. When it comes to interacting with the community and representing the station in a positive way, there are not many that compare. She is without a doubt one of the area’s favorite television personalities, and anyone who has spent time at FOX43 during her time here, either as a guest or a colleague, will tell you what a wonderful person she is. Viewers will miss seeing her, but that does not compare to how much the FOX43 family is going to lament her departure.”

One of those staff members is Warner’s longtime co-anchor Evan Forrester. “I’m thrilled for Heather as she embarks on a new path. It’s a terrific opportunity to use her vast experience and education to help businesses in the region. At the same time I’m sad to see her leave FOX43 News,” Forrester says. “Having worked with Heather as my on-air partner for a dozen years, I have enjoyed our time together presenting the news each and every day to our audience. She has been a top notch professional who has become a very close friend. I will certainly miss her hard work, great attitude and good humor at FOX43.”

Warner’s time at FOX43 included many memorable milestones. “I’ve emceed wonderful community events, been in countless parades, and even learned to ride a motorcycle specifically for our ‘FOX43 Pride and Ride’ event,” Warner says. Her favorite memory was when she allowed viewers to follow along during her second pregnancy in a series of FOX43 NEWS AT 10 segments called “Heather’s Expecting.” Focused on pre-natal care and other health issues related to childbirth, this special series gave viewers an unprecedented look at the birth of her daughter Julia.

“In fact, I just watched those stories with Julia, who is now in elementary school, and her two brothers last night. As enjoyable as it was to share that experience with the viewers, seeing the smiles on their faces when they watched the ultrasound – not to mention the day she was born – was priceless,” Warner reveals. “I’m excited that I’ll be able to see much more of those smiling faces with this new position at GRIT Marketing Group.”

Heather Warner joined the FOX43 News team in 2003, co-anchoring FOX43 NEWS AT 10 with Evan Forrester until 2012. In early 2013, Warner moved to the morning shift, anchoring FOX43 MORNING NEWS. She returned to FOX43 NEWS AT 10 and FOX43 NEWS FIRST AT 4 in September of 2014. A York native, Warner is a graduate of Dallastown High School and Kutztown University. She holds a Master of Communication Studies degree from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania.

FOX43 viewers are encouraged to visit Heather Warner’s Facebook page at facebook.com/heatherwarnerfox43 to share any stories, memories or well wishes. Her final turn behind the FOX43 NEWS AT 10 anchor desk will be on March 2, 2016.
