YORK, PA - Thanks to State House Representative Kevin Schreiber, there's a new way for teens to give back to their community. Schreiber kicked off the new campaign called "Teens for Jeans" at the Girls Residing, Educating and Achieving Together (GREAT) House in York. It's part of a national effort meant to encourage teens to give back by collecting gently-used jeans which will be donated to a local shelter.
"Jeans are the mainstay that we need," York Rescue Mission executive Director Matthew Carey said. "We do not get enough men's jeans, so we want to put that out to the community that we do not have enough men's jeans. So, any donation that you can make, anything that you can do will greatly impact a child or someone that's going through a tough time."
Schreiber's office is running a jean drive that will last through February 29th. Students can drop off their donations at over 30 locations in York listed below:
